Anne McCulloch is a retired Adult Literacy and Numeracy Tutor with many years of experience working in Adult Education. Throughout her career, she supported learners in community centres, homeless units, Women's Aid and other settings. Her work brought her into contact with people dealing with financial pressures, housing difficulties, interrupted education and major changes in family life. Anne's approach has always been practical, patient and non-judgemental. Those same qualities can be found throughout her writing. Her non-fiction draws on her professional experience of helping adults develop confidence and everyday life skills, while her fiction reflects her love of humour, friendship and the small moments that can change people's lives. Storytelling has also been part of Anne's family life for many years. She began by making up bedtime stories for her own children before eventually deciding to put those stories onto paper. Today, Anne writes children's picture books, humorous fiction for adults and practical non-fiction — very different kinds of books, but all written with warmth, understanding and a strong interest in people.
